Detector installed in SHMS in Hall C at Jefferson Lab

Detector pictures and performance - detector is ready for beam!
Detector installed between heavy gas Cherenkov detector and second layer of hodoscopes in SHMS in Hall C at Jefferson LAB. View from Hall C floor.
Sideview of detector as viewed from inside SHMS detector hut.
Performance of the detector - all channels are counting (cosmic test August 2016).
Light yield of the detector as measured in cosmic tests - lines indicate expected values.
SP-11 aerogel tray inner tray.
Graduate student Jonathan Castellanos installing Gore reflector in the SP-11 aerogel tray to optimize light collection.

Assembly preparation and training at Jefferson Lab

Training to assembly the detector at Jefferson Lab
Detector box received at Jefferson LAB.
Transportation of the detector to the assembly room at JLab.
PMTs are ready to be installed on the detector.
Working with wires, that will prevent aerogel tiles to fall from the tray.
A mesh of stainless steel wire were created. Here there wasn't aerogel in the tray yet, it was just for training how to place the wires stretched.
Some aerogel tiles were stacked in the tray with a net of 150 micrometer wires placed to hold them.
