DETECTOR UPDATES

• NPS PMT shielding (Arthur)

• Single crystal single counter has been assembled and tested
• Next:

• trigger oscilloscope with output from pulse generator to "calibrate" for studies with magnetic field
• insert single counter in magnetic fields of different orientation and strength (up to 50 Gauss)

• Aerogel detector (Arthur)

• Assembly of eighth layer ongoing
• expect to be able to to tray-exchange to SP-11 before Christmas break
• Cosmic tests in hall either with full hodoscope array and Hall C DAQ system or (if that's not ready) with two channels from pre-shower as done for SP-30 and SP-15 trays
• Note on cabling of Hall C DAQ system: need to check the cable mapping for aerogel detector and also cables themsevles

• Alternative readout of PWO crystals (Andres)

• APD and pre-amplifier circuitry assembled - resulting signal appears to be noise - will require shielding
• Discussion about next steps

• Greg contacted Marco Battaglieri's group that was/is responsible for Hall B HPS cal. A full setup for crystal APD-based readout will be available to CUA after Thanksgiving
• Andres will meet with Marco's group to discuss about setup optimization
• In January 2017 we'll try to see the HPS setup at JLab

• Recent crystal light yield measurements (Richard)

• Data taken for SICCAS J19 and CRYTUR #1 - analysis is ongoing
• Next:

• Measurements by Salina and Rishabh
