STATUS OF SUBCONVENER INVITATIONS

  • 15 people were invited for the subgroups (tracking, PID, calorimetry, Far-forward detectors, Central detector integration and magnet, forward detectors/IR integration, DAQ and electronics, detector complementarity)
  • Received 9 positive responses so far - one more positive response after the meeting
  • some questions for clarification, e.g. about the role of subconveners, connection to the R&D Consortia, etc. - these will be addressed by email/phone or in the first meeting of Conveners+Subconveners
  • Silvia: 2 phone calls (PID, DAQ&electronics)
  • Ken: 1 contact (far-forward detectors)
  • 5 subgroups (out of 8) have a complete set of subconveners

  • Send reminders to the remaining subconvener candidates if no response by 1/10

LIST OF CONTRIBUTORS

  • Received email input from BNL, JLAB, Los Alamos, ANL, LBL, some of the R&D Consortia, and some university groups with contributor names and interests
  • Information is being compiled into a list to be expanded by the subconveners
  • Discussion and assignment of Conveners to respond to emails received most recently
  • Silvia: ANL, LBL, Saclay
  • Tanja: eRD22, BNL, SC guidance

SOFTWARE GROUP COMMUNICATIONS

  • subconvener and ex-officio - Tanja replies to this email
  • both roles are needed and important
  • same person could do both
  • Meetings with the software group - Silvia replies to this email
  • core group: 22 January - suggest 12pm (ET)
  • wider group: 23 January - suggest after quarterly meeting, e.g. 12pm (ET)
  • valuable to meet with the simulation team to inform of the current status of the detector working group
  • overall philosophy and progress on organizational structure
  • Possible requests to the software group to be presented in two upcoming meetings
  • Tutorials like those scheduled are the kind of support that is needed
  • Important to realize that not all groups may be able to align themselves with the official software on short timescale and may present results with a temporary software
  • Support with the translation of possibly new pieces of detector into the global software would be helpful
  • Capability and support for substantial event generation for data sets to be specified
