General Meeting Summary 11/29/17

DETECTORS AT JLAB (Vladimir, Arshak, Hamlet, Greg)

• SHMS Aerogel Cherenkov detector ready - waiting for beam

• Use any opportunity when data reasonable to start detector commissioning

• NPS: setting up DAQ and crystal dimension measurements

• Some additional hardware needed: network switch, computer, scope, crates (HV, NIM), pulse generator, ethernet cable, ground, clean power (last three items being discussed with Walt Akers)
• Once have all hardware will coordinate DAQ setup with Brad
• Dimension measurements with new tool for first 20 crystals completed

• Crane operation in test lab: to avoid possible damage to crystals, keep shelves close to the back wall of the clean room

• DIRC

• First bar arrived at JLab!
• EIC R&D: tesing lens radiation hardness - earlier in year found it's not radiation hard, but more recent tests seem to indicate that the material (NLAK33, La crown glass with n~1.75, made by Schott) recovers, trying to understand the mechanism

DATA ANALYSES (Salina, Vladimir)

• DVCS analysis

• checking calculation of the dead time, with present corrections should be current independent, but it's not
