JLAB DETECTORS
- SHMS aerogel detector performance with beam during KPP runs better than with cosmics tests - higher number of photoelectrons expected since photons now go in the "right" direction with beam
- have some data for position dependence studies - low statistics
- SP-11 aerogel tray
- Walter's group helping with cover
- when SP-11 aerogel installation complete, switch out aerogel tray currently installed in SHMS (SP-15) with SP-11 tray and test it with cosmics
- SHMS preshower worked well during KPP runs as well - observe better resolution than HERMES
- HMS aerogel detector discussion
- Hall C agreed to give the detector to CUA
- currently located in room above Hall C machine shop - HMS aerogel detector transportation
- NPS PMT HV linearity tests completed
- good linearity up to 2 MHz, which is the required range for NPS experiments
- Next steps
- analyze aerogel position dependence data from SHMS KPP runs
- SP-11 tray finalize
- HMS aerogel refurbishment - testing of PMTs, perhaps some exchange needed
- NPS 3x3 prototype test - set up for water circulation/cooling as planned for full detector following Hall B/D examples, may require chiller
CRYSTAL STUDIES AT CUA
- Discussion about crystal readout with APDs
- Identified problem with LED driver and fixed it - resulting signal
- working on precision control of driving voltage
PIXEL DETECTORS
- Discussion about shipment of laboratory equipment from Nebraska to CUA
- At CERN, pixel detectors are now being tested from control room, next will be complete cool down, CMS detector will be close sometime before June
