- Salina: overview of her thesis experiment that probes the transverse spatial structure of a proton, like a 3D topographic map. That’s related to confinement and in turn the origin of all mass in the visible universe. Salina will tell us more and additional details of the measurement and her data analysis to extract the neutral pion cross section.
- Helen: discussion of the derivation of the refractive index of a material using Snell’s law. See here[1] for result. Also discussion of the experimental setup and uncertainties. Some uncertainties are currently overestimated. She will further investigate and present an update and possible optimizations next time.
- Mireille: working on calibration of the scintillator hodoscopes used for trigger and timing in the KaonLT experiment. Also calibration of the HMS gas Cherenkov detector. Update next time.
NEXT MEETING: FRIDAY JUNE 7
