SHMS AEROGEL CHERENKOV DETECTOR

• SHMS aerogel detector SP-11 tray exchange re-scheduled for week of 5 June

• Discussion about installation of gas flow system for SHMS aerogel detector using existing infrastructure on detector box - would be beneficial for both PMTs and aerogel

• HERMES used N2 to improve long term performance of aerogel

• Developing HowTo for operation of aerogel test configuration (trigger, HV setting etc)

• Discussion of SHMS aerogel detector PMT analysis - all working fine

HMS AEROGEL CHERENKOV DETECTOR

• Attempts to remove PMTs from cylinders have been unsuccessful

• SHMS cylinders are wider and walls thicker than HMS cylinders, to for installation of a new set of PMTs need new cylinders of dimensions of HMS cylinders (outside) - inside could add more tolerance

PBWO4 STUDIES AT CUA

• Testing Crytur late growth cycle crystal - transmittance looks ok, light yield ongoing, radiation resistance ongoing

• Crystal drawing prototype thermal design being developed

• APD readout tests in temperature controlled environment

• Projections of pion and kaon structure function measurements for PIEIC2017 meeting at Argonne National Lab on 1-2 June (Andres, Richard)
