General Meeting Summary 8/30/17

SHMS AEROGEL DETECTOR (Andres)

• Analyzed runs 464, 468, 488 (production runs with aerogel n=1.015) and 929 (cosmic run with aerogel n=1.011)

• Note: spectrometer coordinate system has vertical X pointing down and horizontal Y pointing beam left as seen from the target
• ~50% of events are single tracks
• Plots illustrate effect of magnet on/off on shape of data and response of PMTs
• Further SHMS aerogel data analysis ongoing including the recently installed n=1.030 cosmic - was a run taken already? What run number?

• Discussion ongoing about whether or not aerogel should be in the trigger - need to clarify this with Hall C

HMS AEROGEL DETECTOR (Richard)

• Work on removing Bates PMTs ongoing

• Setting up large diameter PMT scanning apparatus

NPS (Hamlet, Tanja)

• Updated schedule of crystal delivery will be sent soon

• 160 crystals are on the way

• Magnet still delayed, but some positive news on main coil delivery

PbWO4 STUDIES AT CUA (Richard, Vardan, Tanja)

• Simulation work to determine reflector impact on crystal light yield ongoing

• Furnace move planned for temperature profile studies

DVCS ANALYSIS (Salina)

• Working on waveform analysis to identify impact of main and random coincidences on dead time

CERN DETECTORS (Rachel)

• Ongoing activities to install instrumentation into HEP lab at CUA

OTHER (Andres)

• Installed JLab software on several CUA computers
• new computer specs are comparable or better than JLab farm computers
