Prototype design
Some prototypes of the Kaon Aerogel Detector were designed and constructed at CUA (by the CUA Nuclear Physics group) and at JLab (by the Yerevan group). The main idea of these prototypes is to make possible studies of the behavior of the real detector, for instance:
- Relative light yield of different aerogel tiles
- Relative quantum efficiency of different PMTs
- Relative reflectivity efficiency of covering materials, like Mylar and Millipore
