The preparation of the experimental setup for characterizing "low" gain PMTs at CUA is being developed for gain and PMT scanning. As a first step, two inches PMTs are being used.
When the setup is ready to characterize these PMTs, we will be able to work with the 1/2" PMT. This is an important PMT for our group since we want to use that in our Pi0 calorimeter.
One of the projects that are being developed is the study and construction of a pre-amplifier for the PMT signal. Details on this project can be found at: PMT Signal pre-amplifier.
Calculations of our resolution capability
The equipment we have in the lab to integrate the signal from the PMT is:
- ADC (model, manual, ...)
