GENERAL COMMENTS

  • Please use the general EICUG tools, e.g. the mailing lists, web site, calendar
  • Please reach out to the R&D Consortia
  • When setting up regular meetings, please invite the conveners
  • For subsequent meetings, the subgroups presenting please prepare 2-3 slides documenting progress, questions, path forward, other important points
  • Integration of information into Yellow Report - a template will be posted soon; for now please continue separate documentation

SUMMARY NOTES

Tracking (K. Gnanvo, L. Greiner, A. Mastroserio)

  • Compiling a mailing list - planning first meeting within a week
  • Planning to involve new collaborators, e.g. laboratory instrumentation groups

PID (T. Hemmick)

  • Discussion material - showing the overall concept approach (benchmark process from PWG, interface with SWG, R&D performance from Consortia)
  • No meetings yet with the community - planning to reach out within the next week

Calorimetry (V. Berdnikov)

  • Setting up EICUG tools (google group etc) - sent out invitations to google group including R&D Consortium and additional interested people
  • First meeting planned within a week

Far Forward Detectors/IR Integration (Y. Furletova, M. Murray)

  • Mailing list established (>30 people already joined), documents with information what on what is in the IRs available on Indico
  • Action item: need to understand limitations for case of two IRs, e.g. optics - check with accelerator

DAQ/Electronics (D. Neyret)

  • Subconveners met and made a list of tasks for the group including front-end, trigger, DAQ - in general, the group's task will stop with step when data are on tape, i.e. not treating analysis of data
  • detailed points that will be covered include: identify technologies, number of channels, electronic noise, trigger vs. trigger-less readout, what type of DAQ
  • Starting to setup the group - first meeting planned within ~2 weeks

Central Detector Integration/Magnet (A. Kiselev, W. Brooks)

  • Working in coordination of tasks, e.g. central solenoid field properties, fringe fields etc. (important for tracking) - contacted magnet groups from BNL and JLab that could help with that
  • Envision two initial meetings: 1) with magnet designers, 2) with wider audience
  • Putting detector together requires input from all groups - this information could be collected in a central database of requirements, sizes, active and passive volume
  • Note: passive area definition includes supports that hold up the detectors or special requirements on beam pipe
  • Coordination of effort is important - for now the group will start recording information like interferences

Complementarity (Elke)
