STATUS OF SUBCONVENER INVITATIONS
- 15 people were invited for the subgroups (tracking, PID, calorimetry, Far-forward detectors, Central detector integration and magnet, forward detectors/IR integration, DAQ and electronics, detector complementarity)
- Received 9 positive responses so far - one more positive response after the meeting
- some questions for clarification, e.g. about the role of subconveners, connection to the R&D Consortia, etc. - these will be addressed by email/phone or in the first meeting of Conveners+Subconveners
- Silvia: 2 phone calls (PID, DAQ&electronics)
- Ken: 1 contact (far-forward detectors)
- 5 subgroups (out of 8) have a complete set of subconveners
- Tracking
- PID
- Calorimetry (e+h)
- Forward detector/IR integration
- Detector Complementarity
- Send reminders to the remaining subconvener candidates if no response by 1/10
- Silvia: 2 emails (central detector integration, DAQ & electronics)
- Tanja: 1 email (far-forward detectors)
- Peter: 1 contact (tracking)
LIST OF CONTRIBUTORS
- Received email input from BNL, JLAB, Los Alamos, ANL, LBL, some of the R&D Consortia, and some university groups with contributor names and interests
- Information is being compiled into a list to be expanded by the subconveners
- Discussion and assignment of Conveners to respond to emails received most recently
- Silvia: ANL, LBL, Saclay
- Tanja: eRD22, BNL, SC guidance
WORKING GROUP WEB PAGE AND MAILING LISTS
- EICUG Detector Working Group web page is now available
- Ken will follow up with Thomas on details of the mailing list requests
SOFTWARE GROUP COMMUNICATIONS
- subconvener and ex-officio - Tanja replies to this email
- both roles are needed and important
- same person could do both
- Meetings with the software group - Silvia replies to this email
- core group: 22 January - suggest 12pm (ET)
- wider group: 23 January - suggest after quarterly meeting, e.g. 12pm (ET)
- valuable to meet with the simulation team to inform of the current status of the detector working group
- overall philosophy and progress on organizational structure
- Possible requests to the software group to be presented in two upcoming meetings
- Tutorials like those scheduled are the kind of support that is needed
- Important to realize that not all groups may be able to align themselves with the official software on short timescale and may present results with a temporary software
- Support with the translation of possibly new pieces of detector into the global software would be helpful
- Capability and support for substantial event generation for data sets to be specified
NEXT MEETINGS:
- MEETING WITH SUBCONVENERS MONDAY 13 JANUARY AT 12PM (ET)
- DETECTOR WG MEETING TUESDAY 14 JANUARY AT 12PM (ET) AS NEEDED
